BEA Recruits Key Personnel from the Outside
Tony de la Lama From Borland and Bill Roth From Sun Joins BEA

In its search for the right chemistry, BEA, which has been rearranging its office furniture for a while now, has hired an executive out of Borland and two out of Sun to man key posts. BEA has named Tony de la Lama, who was general manager of Borland's Together business unit and before that GM of Borland's Java business unit, VP, product management. He's supposed to drive the strategy, vision and roadmaps for WebLogic and Tuxedo. Bill Roth, who was responsible for J2EE and SunOne product marketing and management at Sun and had a hand in Office.org before a brief sojourn at E.piphany, the CRM provider, is going to be VP, WebLogic and Tuxedo product marketing at BEA. Laurie Cremona was hired directly out of Sun where she was responsible for market intelligence and field marketing. She is supposed to handle BEA's marketing strategy and operations.
